8th graders will venture to Washington, D.C. for their annual excursion. They will review history by visiting sites and seeing first-hand documents and locations that shaped our history. St. John is proud to be able to offer these educational opportunities for our students.

Science Camp in Sequoia National Forest

Our 6th and 7th graders were in the Sequoia National Forest for 4 days for an immersive science camp. Students loved the outdoors, animals and cold. It was a great experience for both students and teachers. Next year, back to Yosemite for another Science Camp, but this time in October.

Harmony Projects has partnered with St. John to offer these musical instruments to the 4th grade. We are making gradual progress in music literacy and theory to better prepare them for play. We hope to extend this partnership for the following school year. 

D-Leagues

D-Leagues

In an effort to offer more sports for students in young ages, Coach Pat has organized the D-League. Students as young as Kindergarten can now compete in sports like basketball, soccer and track. Our last D-league round of Basketball was an overwhelming success. Thank you parents for supporting these new initiatives.

Boys Varsity Basketball

Our boys this weekend against American Martyrs School in Manhattan Beach for the 2nd Round of Basketball Championships. It was a good game, but our team lost by a margin of only 2 baskets. This is the third year in a row that the St. John’s Basketball Team achieves 2nd round or higher.

This weekend our Mighty Mights won Nationals for Jamz. Our Varsity Girls Team who were National Champions last year weren’t able to hold their title this year. New iPads will be arriving for every student in the school to start the new year. These devices will help to assist in learning and formative assessments. We are proud to be offering the latest technology for our students.

There are still spaces for a few grades. Register in the main office during the summer. TK students must be 4 years old before September 1st. And Kinder students must be 5 years old by September 1st.

Celebrating 90 Years

This September 16th, St. John Chrysostom School will celebrate 90 years in Inglewood. We will have a celebration with mass at 1pm and lunch. All alumni are welcome to attend.
